Description

NGC7293, often called Helix Nebula, somtimes also Eye of God, is a planetary nebula which is pretty close to our home planet - only about 655 lightyears distance. It is also a rather young nebula, only about 10000-11000 years old, located in the Aquarius region. In the center a white dwarf which had shed off its outer regions and they expand at a speed of about 20miles/sec. Important is, that it contains about 40000 cometary knots = globules of still more or less unknown formation process.
